Professional Accomplishments

Adam, with 40 years of experience, has been dedicated to his role as an automotive technician and instructor since the early 1980s. Since 1991, he has owned and operated his own automotive repair and training facilities. In addition to his expertise in standard auto and truck diagnostics and repair, Adam has devoted many years to working with high-performance vehicles. He finds joy in tasks such as dyno tuning/programming and providing support for auto racing, actively participating in various “grassroots” style local motorsport racing events. Since 1999, Adam has been a trainer for CARQUEST Technical Institute (CTI/WTI), consistently educating 23 full regions in the Western United States. He has delivered nearly 800 hours of presentation material, balancing this with hands-on training events throughout the year. A regular fixture at national automotive training events, Adam has also authored numerous pieces of training curriculum and books as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). His teaching style is often described as “contagious,” characterized by an abundance of energy and passion. Having experience with and having used almost every tool on the market, Adam is well-versed in basic meters, scopes, scan tools, and programming equipment. He is also familiar with more specialized tools for hybrid/electric motor and battery testing and repairing, frequently acquiring the latest tools as they are released. In what he humorously refers to as his “extra free time ha-ha,” Adam travels to various shops in CA, OR, WA, ID, AZ, and WY to diagnose and fix problematic vehicles, utilizing whatever equipment is available at the time. When not physically present at the shops, he is actively engaged in providing remote technical/diagnostic/programming support to other technicians, collaborating with DiagNation. Furthermore, Adam has hosted a weekly radio talk show on AM570 KVI out of Seattle, titled “The Northwest Auto Show,” which served as a call-in auto repair/advice program for consumers from 1994-2000. Currently, he occasionally guest hosts the show when time permits.
